A Clinical Study of Unasyn^(¢ç) (Sulbactam/Ampicillin) in Acute Pelvic Inflammatory Diseases

Abstract
|
|
|
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Sulbactam/Ampicillin(S/A); an irreversible beta-lactamase inhibi:or, in -the treatment of acute pelvic inflammatory disease, twenty patients were investigated after use of :his drug at the Department of Obstertrics and Gynecblogy, Pusan National Unviersity Hospital, Pusan, Korea from July, 1985 to May, 1986 for a period of one year.
The result of this study can be summarized as follows:
1. In the treatment of acute pelvic inflammatory disease, S/A has 95% efficacy, which is very satisfactcry response rate.
2. In vitro sensitivity test to S/A showed high sensitivity results-for E. coli, 80%, for Staphyococcus aureus, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, gonococcus, Peptostreptococcus anaerobius, and enterococcus, 10C% 3.
